A Message from Co-CEOs Bob Vermeer and Mary Andringa: One of the great privileges of being a citizen of the United States is the opportunity to take part in the political process in our country. The question has been asked at Vermeer, "How can I be better informed of issues and legislators which affect manufacturing, and therefore me?" Vermeer has been a member of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) since 1956, as well as the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) since 1979. They represent the interest of small, medium, and large manufacturers in Iowa and across the United States. Because of our involvement with these organizations, we have the opportunity to provide you with this website as a resource on issues that are being considered in Congress, for information on our elected officials and candidates for political office, as well as instructions on the voting process. You can even conveniently contact your legislators through this site, regarding issues that affect you. The Vermeer team includes people in many different Congressional and House Districts from across the state, country, and beyond. So it's extremely important that each of us has the opportunity to make our voice be heard on topics that affect us all. For more information on these issues and the easy-to-use opportunity to electronically send a pre-drafted letter to your legislators, click "Take Action" at left for Iowa issues, or this NAM link for national issues. It truly is a privilege to be involved in the legislative process. The information provided here is to encourage your political awareness, give you valuable information on issues and legislators, and then let you decide how to get involved. Your input does make a difference! Iowa Election News - |
