The Chinese government currently uses subsidies and other economic incentives to give their forest products producers an unfair trade advantage over American-made products in the industry. AF&PA supports legislation both chambers that would amend U.S. anti-subsidy law to apply the same countervailing duty measures to imports from non-market economies, such as China, that are applied to products from all other trading nations.
