A message from CEO Mary Andringa & Chairman Bob Vermeer -
One of the great privileges of being a citizen of the United States is the opportunity to take part in the political process in our country. We have been asked how we at Vermeer could be better informed of the issues that affect manufacturing on both the state and national levels.
Our company has been a member of the National Association of Manufacturers since 1979, and the Iowa Association of Business and Industry since 1956. They represent the interest of small, medium, and large manufacturers in Iowa and across the United States. Because of our involvement with these organizations, we have the opportunity to offer this website which gives information on manufacturing issues and others that are being considered by our legislators, how to contact legislators on issues, voting records of candidates, how to register to vote, and more. Many of the issues concerning taxes, international trade, healthcare reform, employee choice, product liability, and specific bills such as highway and energy bills do have an affect on Vermeer and other manufacturers. You can learn more about these state and national issues by clicking the “Take Action” link above.
It is your privilege to be involved in the legislative process. The information provided via this website is to encourage your political awareness, give you information on the issues, and then let you decide how to get involved. Your input does make a difference!
